Crafting your Lyte

So I am a ETSY.COM addict!!

Seriously!
I am really starting to wonder if I need to talk to someone about it. There is a benefit to my window shopping....The urge to CRAFT!!! As you all know I love, I DO MEAN LOVE, to upcycle and reuse everything. AHEM...I have found the best use for those wonderful TWEENY *THANKS A BUNCH QUEENE`* magazine pages. You know the ones that look so beautiful just not enough to compete with the ORIGINAL pieces of art on my walls. So why not make them in to envelopes.

Okay here is the story.... I bought something from ETSY.com, wonderful something. Paypal.com must have been having an off day because I kept getting the "Try Again in 30 Mins" screen. I decided to just send a money order for the amount. I made my task *WITH ALARM* in my phone, got the money order the very nested day and had every intention to sending it out. Fast forward to THREE WEEKS later, yes 3, and I am still walking around with an USPS money order for my ETSY.COM purchase. Why didn't I mail the money order.....HMMMM... I was being cheap. Okay so the stamp is now 41 cents or is it 44 cents, I didn't have an ENVELOPE, and I refused to buy a stamped envelope. Mainly because I HAD A STAMP ALREADY. Thus I walked around being dishonest to myself and a very AMAZING ETSY.COM crafter for three weeks. I finally did mail it out this past Saturday after Queene the Great made me a envelope. Her actions always lead me to research whats going on and so I looked up envelope templates. I found some for free here along with some other awesome free cards and labels. You can print the template right on to the paper you want to use or use some pretty hard card stock for a permanent template. I also used the scraps to make gift tags with. I'm really working towards getting my foot print down. Anywho I thought those out in BLOGSVILLE would like to Craft Their Lyte as well.

I will be making my own envelopes FOR free. Ummm or atleast from materials that already exist although I may have or may not have paid for the magazine. ART!! Shinin My Lyte

I am embracing all art as gifts of passion! Art Art Art is...How wonderful is a world engulfed in ART!!!! GT N TY to all that is DIVINE!!

So YES..... I am an Artist!
That statement has taken me years to fully embrace and speak with confidence.
I can run down the MANY reason I often ran away from the idea of being an Artist yet TRUTH IS...I am Artist. So today I'm standing in it!

I write, make jewelry, make all my body and hair products and create all kinds of items daily.

Being an Artist doesn't mean you have to sell your wears. I've given away thousands of my products as gifts of the years. I've made items per request, out of need or just from love. I, however, prefer to make and keep my products for myself. OK OK thats a whole other blog!!!! Over the last two weeks I've come to understand that letting go is not just for your emotional baggage. I've got to let go of my ART. I resolve to release some of my art this year. I'm currently finishing up two different books which I plan to self publish. I'm also open to making custom jewelry for people by request.

Art is the voice of the soul. Sometimes you speak it and other times it speaks for you.

Shining my Lyte: I grow up doing Drama, modeling and dancing. I was first published at 16, I wrote a Sci-fi much like the Matrix. I've made all my body and hair products for the past six years but have been mixing up body butters since high school. I make Gemstone Jewelry based on attainment using the properies of the gemstone to aid in the endeavor. I also can sew, craft most people under their own house and do ok with mixed media visual art.

I say if your soul is screaming let Art vibrate its voice!

Sharing Lyte with the kids!!

Just so everyone knows, I am a single parent who is trying to raise a QUEEN GREENIE!! We each choose the battles we wish to conquer when you become parents. I, of course, have chosen to fight the green fight with my mini me, Ms. Queene! I would have made the decision to embark on the green journey much earlier if I would've known my 10 year old little lady would be leading me through all the darkness. Here are a couple of things that will allow you to SHARE LYTE WITH THE KIDS!!

GAIA GIRLS the book series written by Lee Welles is a must read. I am of the Shera and Wonder Woman generation. I miss the completeness that they each brought to my childhood and notice their absence in my daughter life. I meet Lee Welles at the GREEN FESTIVAL in 2007. I was looking in the book section for those who used soy/vegetable inks and recycled paper to network with. Lee Welles has done both! I am currently writing a self esteem series for little girls and I wanted to know all my options. Lee made me feel really brilliant and comfortable right from HELLO. Gaia Girls are four girls who have earth friendly super, but not over the top, powers. Each book is set in a believable environment and the main characters are met with some sort of eco-disater. I read the first two of the series during a business trip just after the festival. The books comes with activities, puzzles and games at the end of the story. AWESOME!!!! Yes, I did them all. The best thing about GAIA GIRLS is that my little greenie read them, asked questions and enjoyed each activity.
